Allergy Elimination Treatments
NAET® (Nambudripad's Allergy Elimination Technique) is a non-invasive, drug free, natural solution to alleviate allergy symptoms of all types such as environmental/seasonal allergies, food allergies, pet allergies, contact dermatitis, and more. NAET can successfully alleviate adverse reactions to all types of allergens, such as eggs, milk, grains, pollens, grasses, flowers, animal dander, perfume, make-up, chemicals, and other environmental agents.
NAET® uses a blend of selective energy balancing, testing and treatment procedures from acupuncture, allopathy, chiropractic, nutritional, and kinesiological disciplines of medicine. NAET was discovered by Dr. Devi Nambudripad, who has trained over 12,000 licensed medical practitioners so that NAET® is now available all over the world to help patients resolve their various allergic response symptoms.
What are allergies?
For the purposes of NAET®, an allergy is defined as a condition of unusual sensitivity of one person to one or more substances which may be harmless to the majority of other individuals. In the allergic person, the allergic substance, known as an allergen, is viewed by the immune system as a threat to the body's well-being. From a Western medical point of view, an allergy is an over-reaction or hypersensitivity of the immune system, but medical research is still being done to try to explain the exact cause of allergies. NAET looks at an allergy holistically, in terms of what a substance does to the energy flow in the body. When contact is made with an allergen, it causes blockages in the energy pathways called meridians, and disrupts the normal flow of energy through the body, which creates interference in the nervous system, and disrupts communication between the brain and body. This chain of events can develop into an allergic response.
What types of problems can allergies cause?
Continuous contact with an allergen can cause reactions to occur in the body similar to the defense mechanisms that your immune system launches in response to a virus. When the body struggles to rid itself of an invading virus we recognize the symptoms of illness, such as fever, coughing, aches, vomiting, fatigue, etc. These are signals of the battle that is going on inside the body as it tries to fight off the invading virus. An allergic response can produce conditions that are equally problematic, whether it has been detected and diagnosed or not.
Many times allergic reactions produce symptoms that mimic other conditions. Respiratory problems, gastrointestinal problems, genito-urinary problems, musculo-skeletal problems (such as unexplained pain in the body), various types of headaches, arthritis, brain fog, and skin problems can all potentially be related to an allergic reaction, if you have not been able to find any other underlying cause.
Some people are able to identify and isolate a specific allergen in order to avoid it, but unfortunately, many people have to deal with an allergen that either cannot be avoided without complete isolation, or it remains undiagnosed, resulting in chronic ailments.
How do I identify allergens and treat my allergies?
Up until recently, there has been no satisfactory method for treating a person's allergies. Unfortunately, using drugs such as antihistamines or steroids to control allergic symptoms does not correct the underlying problem, and often has serious long term side effects. Desensitization using injections of allergenic substances over a period of months, or even years, has been the standard approach used by medical allergists. This option can be effective in some people for some allergies, but in many cases it does not resolve the problem, especially with food allergies.
The most effective treatment option until recently has been complete avoidance of the offending allergen(s). This can be difficult at best, and impossible in some cases, especially with pollens that circulate in the air we breathe. NAET is an effective alternative, and a truly revolutionary system for dealing with allergies, one of the most stubborn health problems that people face. NAET is a natural, drugless, painless and non-invasive method that can be used safely on individuals to alleviate the symptoms arising from the allergens.
Allergens are identified with kinesiological testing, and cleared (treated) one at a time with this technique. Best results are obtained if allergens are cleared in a specific sequence. Normally only one item is treated on a given day, and the substance must then be completely avoided for 25 hours following the treatment in order to ensure the treatment is effective. In most cases, that's all it takes: one session to alleviate an allergy. Individuals who are highly sensitive may sometimes require additional treatments or combination clearings. If you have been sick for a long time, or if you have a poor immune system, you may need numerous NAET treatments before you begin to feel better.
What are NAET® Treatment procedures and how do they work?
After diagnosis has been completed using kinesiological muscle response testing, a systematic treatment procedure is begun in which the central nervous system is mildly stimulated (using acupressure points along the spine) while in the presence of the allergen ( a small sample of the allergen, contained in a vial, is held in your hand during treatment). This acupressure along the spine stimulates the nerves which convey messages to the brain regarding the allergen, so that the brain may trigger the release of the appropriate substances to be sent to the organs and tissues throughout the body, to mediate the allergic reaction. This helps reprogram the brain and nervous system with a new message in the presence of the allergen, so that next time you come in contact with that allergenic substance, your nervous system and immune system do not identify it as a pathogen, but rather, it is responded to as a safe substance, so there is no need for your body to launch an allergic response.

How do acupuncture and acupressure relate to NAET®?
After the Acupressure points on the spine have been stimulated, the patient turns over so that Acupuncture points on the extremities can be stimulated to balance the nervous system and bring the body back to a state of homeostasis. The Acupuncture needles are left in for 20 minutes in the presence of the allergen, (held in a vial in the patient's hand) and during this time the nervous system processes the message being sent: that the allergen is not a threat. This needs to be communicated, so that an allergic reaction will not result upon future contact with that same substance. Your nervous system resets its response to the allergen, and when this resetting process is complete, the patient is said to have been "cleared" of the allergy to that substance.
Do I really need to avoid allergens for 25 hours after treatment?
After an NAET treatment, the patient must avoid contact with the allergen that was treated for the next 25 hours. Many people inquire if they must adhere to the "25 hour avoidance" of the allergen after the NAET treatment. The 25 hour avoidance is important so that the treatment has cycled through the energy pathways of every body system over the course of a day. While some patients may complete the treatment and clear the allergy sooner, it is still recommended that patients avoid the allergen for 25 hours, to obtain the best results from the treatment. 25 hours may seem difficult, but is a short period of time, compared to not getting treatment, and having to avoid an allergen for a lifetime. In our experience, patients who observe the "25 hour avoidance" receive maximum benefit from the treatment, and clear the allergy faster.
How long will it take before I get relief?
The total length of the treatment program varies greatly from one individual to another, depending upon the number of specific allergies, and the overall intensity of the allergic condition. For best results, just one allergen (or one group of closely related allergens, such as a mix of pollens, or a mix of grains) should be identified and treated per office visit. How many allergies the individual has, and how well they respond to treatment, will determine the results of the treatment. Some people start to notice relief after only 1 or 2 treatments, but some people have a complex case with a long list of allergies, in which case it may take 10 or more visits, depending on your condition, to note significant results.
