What to Expect…

Initial Treatments

Initial treatments at Nurture & Mend Acupuncture are approximately 90 minutes long.  This gives us enough time to review your health history, listen to your health concerns, design a treatment plan with your optimal wellness in mind, and provide an acupuncture treatment as part of your first appointment, so you can get started on your path to feeling better, right away.  I often find that cupping is needed and will help speed the path to recovery, and if that applies to you, we will incorporate that into your treatment as well.

Health History Forms

Health history form are completed online; a link will be emailed to you along with your appointment confirmation, so that you may complete the online forms before your initial appointment. If you'd prefer to fill out copies of the forms at the office, please let us know so we can have paper copies available when you arrive.  Please arrive 15 minutes early so that you have time to complete these forms without subtracting time from your scheduled treatment.

Insurance

Nurture & Mend Acupuncture is not in network with insurance, but we are more than happy to provide a detailed receipt and Superbill with CPT codes and diagnosis codes that you can submit to your insurance company to request reimbursement.

What to Wear

We ask that you wear or bring comfortable, loose fitting clothing, as these make evaluation and treatment easier.  You will feel best for your treatment if you arrive hydrated, and have had a light snack, so that you are not overly full or hungry.

Follow Up Treatments

Follow up treatments are approximately 60 minutes for Acupuncture only, and 75-90 minutes for treatments that include Acupuncture and Cupping Therapy.  This gives time to review improvements and changes from the previous treatment, refine the treatment plan, and provide acupuncture as well as any other applicable modalities such as cupping.

If you have any further questions about what to expect, please send us a message via our Contact page.
